In Panama, more than 30% of the population faces malnutrition despite the country’s natural abundance of fruit trees. Every year, tons of public fruits fall and go to waste, seen merely as urban decoration. At the same time, inflation and food insecurity make access to nutritious food increasingly difficult. This contradiction revealed an opportunity: transform an overlooked natural resource into a channel for nutrition, education, and community empowerment aligned with Nestlé’s purpose of improving quality of life through food.
